Total Shoulder Replacement

About the Procedure

The most common cause of chronic hip pain and disability is arthritis. Osteoarthritis usually occurs in people 50 years of age and older and often in individuals with a family history of arthritis.

This is an age-related wear-and-tear type of arthritis. The cartilage cushioning the bones of the hip wears away. The bones then rub against each other, causing hip pain and stiffness.

Shoulder replacement surgery, also known as shoulder arthroplasty, is a procedure to replace the damaged parts of the shoulder joint with artificial components.

This surgery is typically performed to relieve pain and restore function in patients with severe arthritis, fractures, or other degenerative conditions. There are several types of shoulder replacement procedures such as Total Shoulder Replacement and Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement, each tailored to the specific needs of the patient.
