To have patients seen faster and reduce load on Hospital Emergency Room systems, Durham Bone & Joint Specialists is pleased to offer Urgent & Acute Care for patients who DO NOT require immediate attention. This includes; acute pain, strains, non-dislocated/displaced fractures (see below) that do not require reduction.
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR FAMILY DOCTOR to provide a REFERRAL to Durham Bone & Joint Specialists.
Our Providers book appropriate imaging and assessments in order to provide the needed pain management and/or bracing solutions.
Current wait times:
- Urgent Care – 24 to 48 hours
- Acute Care – 3 to 7 days
- Non-Urgent and Chronic Issues – Within 4 weeks
What Can Be Managed at Durham Bone & Joint Specialists
1. Adult Fractures
Lateral (Weber A) and medial malleolus fractures, metatarsal fractures, foot phalanx fractures, midfoot avulsion fractures, osteochondral defects, undisplaced wrist fractures, carpal avulsion fractures, undisplaced clavicle fractures, undisplaced greater tuberosity fractures.
2. Pediatric Fractures (2 years and older)
All clavicle fractures, distal radius fractures, lateral and medial malleolus fractures, metatarsal fractures, phalanx fractures, midfoot avulsion fractures.
